
Aínsa is a “pueblo” Spanish province of Huesca
November 10, 2018Aínsa it is a “pueblo” Spanish, which is in the Sobrarbe region which corresponds to the ancient Kingdom or county of the same name, its origin is more than a millennium, is to the north of the province of Huesca, in the state of Aragon.
Aínsa It was recently voted one of the prettiest pueblos in Spain, by a popular research by a Spanish newspaper, pueblo in the translation into Portuguese is town or village, It can also be a very small town ,usually with at most 5 thousand inhabitants, but often with much less, already we were in pueblos as of Jaca Hoz which has only 75 population.
Taking advantage of this research we are bringing you a little of each of these pueblos popularly chosen.
The city had a very old castle, much lower than the current, the place was walled separating the town's castle with the wall, but after a few years the castle was growing and the city became part of a second wall that was built.
Aínsa still have many of these well-preserved buildings, beyond the castle and the walls, we can also admire five of the seven gates that existed in the two enclosures: Portal de Abajo, Outside portal, Portal Alto, Earth Portal and Portal Glera Callizo.
Since 1965 old center of Aínsa was declared Historical-Artistic Heritage, although since 1931 the parish and the castle have the status of National Monument of Spain.
This town is like stepping back in medieval time, with buildings from centuries ago, It is a kind of travel we love to do, We love small towns like this, and we are always looking for the time visiting these gems.
