November 21, 2016 0 By Christian Gutierrez and Priscilla GutierrezLiving here in Barcelona you will discover another city and deepening increasingly.
The other day I was leaving the Catalan class and going to the gym I passed a street that had a building under renovation that caught my attention.
I spent the next day again for the building and I stopped to see what was this reform and found that it was a Antoni Gaudí building not so known as Mila and Casa Batlló.
But it was nothing less than the Casa Vicens, It is a modern building, and it was the first major work of Antoni Gaudi's architecture, built between 1883-1888. It is located in Gràcia neighborhood in les Carolines Street, 18, near the metro Lesseps (nearest subway to Park Guell) it may be a new stop before or after going to the park. At that time Gaudí, It was inspired by Indian arts, Persia, Japan and also in Islamic art in Spain.
The owners of Casa Vicens Vicens family owned una ceramics factory and asked Gaudí to create this second house them.
After spending a few other residents, the Casa Vicens was bought by a bank in Andorra 2014 and the bank will turn the house into a museum.
The inauguration is forecast to Easter 2017, is, we already are eager to know.
