Romantic cities - São Bento do Sapucai
September 30, 2014The TurMundial is a little more romantic, because me and Chris did 3 years of marriage on 24 September owwwwnn, so let's talk about some cities, hotels and romantic cottages that went together, the first city that soft talk is São Bento do Sapucai.
São Bento do Sapucai is a town in the state of São Paulo, is approximately 2 hours drive from the capital, it is located in
Serra da Mantiqueira right next to Campos do Jordao and South of Minas Gerais.
This region is much visited in winter time, where the temperature is very low and it's a great excuse to stay with your love in a warm hot tub or simply enjoying a good fondue with wine in front of the fireplace.
As I said above, we decided to go there to celebrate our anniversary 3 years of marriage and always at that time we choose to go to cities with romantic hotels and fluffy.
The city is small but very, has 12 thousand inhabitants and is in the midst of the valleys, We chose to stay in Pousada da Mata Way, It was the best choice, in our opinion it was the best hostel we've stayed, the location is great, is a 6 km from the center, with good road to reach her (it is important for those who have no car 4X4, as we also have not lol), because the city is full of giant climbs, but ok and survived.
The cottage is a beautiful thing, well on the mountain with amazing views.
The cottage is equipped with everything we wanted and needed for our happiness, a fireplace, a wonderful hot tub overlooking the woods, a huge, great bed, TV e DVD (we use much, to listen to music) and a hammock on the porch to enjoy juntinho the calm of the place and the landscape.
The breakfast was also a delight, well served (just had lunch lol), with a choice of breads, cheeses and tasty tidbits, feitinho all time, with the highest whim… and the most delicious is that they serve all in the cottage, no additional cost (important) from 9am till 11am Morning, sooo good even.
The hostel's owners are a love, (Deborah and Wesley) They love to talk and spoke of the things that have to do in town, They gave tips on where next, They showed several dining options, but as we only 3 days, we can not do everything…
One of the tips of them was, we do a more or less walk 2 km walk from the guesthouse to the waterfall Potion, that because of this time of little rain fall it was very small, in the same way you give to go to the Toboggan Waterfall which was more 800 meters forward, but we were, As we saw that the water was very scarce and we had already been a bit, we decided to return.
The second tip they gave and it was great, We had lunch at the Stone Chest Restaurant, which is located at the foot of the mountain of Stone Chest, the restaurant is excellent with a wonderful view and good food typical of the region, made in the wood stove, well home and all this for 25 real, plus the original beer for 8 real. The photo we saw, You must have a beautiful sunset, only on the day we went it was a bit cloudy. To get to the restaurant we passed a little perrengue, because the road is very very steep and with a motor car 1.0 It is even more difficult, but still very worth it, Another thing that is good to note, there they only accept cash or check (it happens a lot in every city, so it's good to go prepared). For those who like adventures, behind the restaurant out several trails to the top of Stone Chest and also has tree climbing, but we did.
On the last day we decided to go to Campos do Jordao for lunch at centrinho in the neighborhood of Capivari and return to Sao Paulo, It was not a very good decision, because the road to São Bento do Sapucai to Jordan Fields is an endless saw, with thousands of closed curves, increases with absurd, with a very narrow lane, are 36 km, but because the road is done in minutes 1:15 a.m., We should have stayed longer hours in São Bento and eaten there even, would be the best option (It is the tip).
