How to get on the beach of Balos Beach, in Crete?

Our first tip if you want to go by ATV or scooter will be an adventure, because as we talked about before, It is away from the main cities of the island, leaving Chania are more than 53Km, if it is more than 100 km Retimno, and some car rental companies do not want to rent the ATV for you to go there, It was what happened to us, We had booked a quad bike and the car rental company would not let us rent when we say that we would go to Balos Beach, then it is best to drive it and then when we got there agreed it would be really difficult to get there with a quad bike or a scooter with low power, but a simple car 1.0 it's already good, It was what we rent.

We were near the port of Souda, (we ship) side of the city of Chania, from there to the parking lot is about 58Km, of which 50km are normal roads and some major highways with two lanes and at the end are 8km of dirt road, on the road beginning has a ticket to pay 1 euro per person, to preserve the beach and this dirt road is well filled with stones and a little bad, you can not go more than 30 km per hour.

From the parking lot to the beach are more track 2km, which starts at the mountain and down to the beach, the trail is well marked and easy, It has many people with children, It is a very quiet track to do.
