Howth, food market, fish market and trails
March 18, 2016Howth is a small fishing town very close to Dublin, near 30 minutes by train, there have some really cool things to do.
We made a day trip there.
We left Dublin, in a rare sunny winter Sunday of Ireland, the easiest way to get to the city is train, o DART, gives go by bus also, number 31, but it would take much longer, we took the train in the station Conolly, cost round trip, with student card under 5 EUR per person.
The train stops right in the center of Howth, on the weekends, It has a food market, right in front of the train station (across the street).
No food market de Howth, It has churros, crepe, hot dog alemão, uns cup cakes famosos, Seafood, Asian food and even jewelry, we eat a hot dog is quite big and very tasty snack. But we thought the food market would be larger…
Near the market and the station has a pier full of restaurants with specialties in seafood and fish, there also has shops and restaurant that sells this product for you to take home, We buy one of them for oysters 0,69 EUR unit, the food market of temple bar in Dublin costs about 14 euros 6 oysters, more of 2 euros each.
Besides going to the food market, restaurants and fish markets, the main attraction there is a walk through the trails of Howth, It has long and small trails, as we arrived late it was quite cold winter, I do not track.
We went to see the city and the old church and cemetery, the cathedral and the radio museum, the radio museum only went there for the view, it sits high on a mountain, and has a beautiful view of the city.
It was a good ride gostosinho, It paid off and returned to Dublin in the late afternoon.
