Beach with pink sand? Yes there is!! Come to know where it is.
August 11, 2017Can you imagine going on a wonderful beach and beyond to come across an amazing blue sea, find pink sand? So you can now be happy, as this exists!! At where? On the beach of Balos, in Crete, the largest island of the Greek Islands.
But how does a beach of pink sand is possible?
It is possible because the shells are pink, which over the years have seen small grain pink sand and leave the beach with this color. It is wonderful!!
We have been on many beaches in this big world, but that of Balos Beach, It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches we already know, is among the top 3 no doubt.
Beyond the beach, the sea is also a pond, with warmer water is as beautiful as the beach.
It really is a Greek paradise, limpíssimas the waters, transparent by the lagoon and with the pink sand. There's no way to describe, maybe take the pictures to understand a little, but just going there to even understand the beauty of this spectacular place.
To reach this beach is a bit tricky, 2 Car rental companies were told that we could not get in that way to any beach, and we would have to take a jeep or a powerful quad bike and such, for normal cars do not arrive, almost gave up, but as we are stubborn (still well) we got there and saw it was entirely possible to go with the simplest car of the second rental, because the first car rental company would not even rent for us lol. But here we explain how to make straight, for you do not run the risk of not getting, this Balos Beach is about 50km and good paved road from the city of Chania, plates have directions, but the Google Maps helped us quite, then you will get a 8km dirt road, this road is actually more chatinha, you can walk a maximum of 20km / h, but it has nothing too, and the view is beautiful, after that you will leave the car in the parking lot (arrive early, because when we got back had hundreds of cars parked on the road, so full) parking is free, you only pay 1 euro per person to help preserve the beach, after parking you will make a walking trail of 2km, It lasts 35 minutes or less, the trail is easy, but tiring, it has a lot of uphill and downhill, and the heat took in the summer was to kill, They were 42 degrees!! Another way to make the trail is donkey, but it pity the bugs and the third way to reach the beach is by boat, from the port of Kissamos, but from what we saw out a boat in the morning and it comes back only in the late afternoon, but as we ship, we had time to get back to the ship, so we could not risk.
Though not so simple to get, HAS TO GO, it is truly a paradise!!
