Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is one of the most beautiful Renaissance style palaces of the Côte d'Azur (if not the most)
May 8, 2017Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild na Cidade de Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, It is located between the city of Nice and the Principality of Monaco, next to another very famous city that is Villefranche, this palace is a MUST stop for those who make this drive, or it will be a few days in the region.
Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild It is one of the most beautiful Renaissance style palaces of the Côte d'Azur, built on top of a mountain on a peninsula, between the years 1905 e 1912 and two side views of the Mediterranean, in this place that the sea is so blue.
The palace was built for the Rothschild family, a wealthy banker.
The palace after the death of its owners was donated to the government and today is a beautiful museum, where they have to visit the palace, a restaurant for lunch and a stately garden.
We stopped there when we were doing a script 9 days by Côte D'Azur (Blue Coast) or the French Riviera, that day we left early in the Nice, toward Monaco, first stop in Villefranche and the second stop was the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild.
To enter the museum pays 14 EUR per person, but very worth knowing this beautiful work of art that is the palace and garden.
The Palace is equal to the time that the owners lived, rooms with furniture, The crazy girls, works of art, all the same there 100 years ago, the main rooms of the palace are the drives: PATIO covered, the Louis XV salon, the apartment Beatrice (the former resident), the hall of the porcelain and the dining room.
What enchanted us a lot in this place was its wonderful garden, which is partitioned between 7 gardens, You follow a trail and go through all, the gardens are:
- French to garden
- Spanish garden
- Lapidáro garden
- Japanese garden
- Floretino garden
- Exotic garden
- Provençal garden
In addition to the Rose Garden and Aviary (that was under renovation when we were).
We were there about a 2 hs, long enough to know everything, there are people who would be longer but still had to go to Monaco.
